This website is meant to be used as a guide for educators, administrators, and people interested in anti-racist work to learn about and integrate Global Education and Abolitionist teaching into your classroom, school, district, and beyond. You can also follow my own journey in these pedagogies, using my lessons, reflections, and resources as models for your own work.
Home: On this page, you will find these instructions, obviously, and I will also make posts about all things teaching great and small, whether it has to do with public policy or a lesson I tried in my classroom.
Guided Questions: I will continually post big open-ended questions that reflect my thinking at the current moment. You will notice that the posts and teaching will likely attempt to unpack some of these inquiries.
Travel and Reflection: On this page, I will post reflections about professional development and teacher travel. Sadly, our Fulbright trip to Morocco was postponed due to COVID, but I hope to be posting again in Spring 2021 if it gets rescheduled!! Among my current professional goals is to engage in more travel as a teacher, with students and as part of exchange programs, so I hope to be adding much more to this page in the coming years.
Study: On this page, you will find tons of resources to begin learning about Global Education and Abolitionist Teaching. I have provided readings and videos, digital resources, organizations, and recommendations to get you on your way. Take it slow because there is a lot to go through on these pages.
Teach: On this page, I have provided examples of my own teaching with full lessons and units along with detailed descriptions of the way they align with Global Education and Abolitionist Teaching. Feel free to borrow and adapt these lessons to get started! I also have provided an example of how to align state, district, or local standards with these philosophies.
Contact: Send me an email; I’d love to hear from you!
